Collins Aerospace, a business of RTX, has signed three-year parts distribution agreements with Integrated Procurement Technologies, S3 AeroDefense, and Derco, a unit of Lockheed Martin. The agreements aim to strengthen global logistics and hardware support for wheels and brakes on the C-130 Hercules.
This strategic expansion of Collins Aerospace’s distribution network is designed to provide enhanced lifecycle support for C-130 operators worldwide. By leveraging multiple distribution partners, the company ensures faster, more efficient delivery of mission-critical components, supporting both existing operators and those considering upgrades to Collins’ advanced wheel and brake systems.
The C-130 Hercules remains one of the most widely used and versatile military transport aircraft in history, operated by more than 70 countries. Its ability to perform in challenging environments—including short, unpaved, and rugged runways—makes reliable landing systems essential for safe and effective operations.
Matt Maurer, Vice President and General Manager of Landing Systems at Collins Aerospace, emphasized that wheels and brakes are critical to the aircraft’s operational safety and performance. He noted that the new agreements will enhance fleet readiness by ensuring that operators have timely access to essential components, enabling missions ranging from combat operations to humanitarian relief.
A key feature of Collins’ offering is its DURACARB® brake technology, which delivers extended service life, reduced maintenance requirements, and improved operational efficiency. These advantages translate into lower lifecycle costs and increased aircraft availability for operators working in demanding operational conditions.
The agreements also align with Collins Aerospace’s broader strategy of strengthening aftermarket support and logistics capabilities for legacy and modern military platforms. By improving access to high-performance components and streamlining supply chains, the company is helping operators maintain high levels of readiness and mission capability.
As global demand for tactical airlift and humanitarian support continues to grow, ensuring the reliability and availability of critical systems like landing gear components becomes increasingly important. Through these partnerships, Collins Aerospace reinforces its commitment to supporting the long-term performance and sustainability of the C-130 fleet worldwide.
