Eve Air Mobility has signed a firm order agreement with AirX, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of urban air mobility (UAM) in Asia-Pacific. The agreement includes the purchase of up to 50 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, reinforcing a shared commitment to sustainable and innovative transportation solutions.

This deal represents Eve’s second binding order with AirX and highlights growing momentum for next-generation air mobility in Japan. The initial phase will see the delivery of two eVTOL aircraft starting in 2029, with potential for further expansion as demand for zero-emission urban transport continues to rise.

The partnership aims to integrate Eve’s advanced eVTOL aircraft into AirX’s operations, enabling efficient, environmentally friendly travel across urban and regional routes. Planned applications include sightseeing services and last-mile connectivity solutions in major cities such as Tokyo and Osaka, where congestion and demand for rapid mobility solutions are increasing.

Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility, emphasized that the agreement represents more than a commercial milestone, describing it as a step toward redefining urban transportation. He noted that the Asia-Pacific region is expected to play a leading role in the global transition toward sustainable aviation, with partnerships like this accelerating innovation and adoption.

AirX CEO Kiwamu Tezuka highlighted that the collaboration positions the company at the forefront of Japan’s evolving air mobility ecosystem. By adopting eVTOL technology, AirX aims to deliver cleaner, faster, and more efficient transportation options for passengers.

Eve’s eVTOL aircraft are designed with a focus on safety, reliability, and sustainability. They leverage advanced electric propulsion systems to significantly reduce noise and emissions compared to conventional helicopters, while enhancing passenger comfort and operational efficiency.

The agreement also reflects broader trends in advanced air mobility (AAM), where cities worldwide are exploring innovative solutions to address congestion, reduce environmental impact, and improve connectivity. Japan, with its strong focus on technology and infrastructure development, is emerging as a key market for early adoption of eVTOL services.

Overall, this partnership strengthens Eve Air Mobility’s global presence while advancing the deployment of sustainable urban air transport solutions. As infrastructure, regulation, and technology continue to evolve, collaborations like this are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of aviation.
