Bombardier has announced that its flagship Global 8000 has received certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), marking another major milestone for what is recognized as the world’s fastest civilian aircraft. This follows earlier certifications from Transport Canada in November 2025 and the Federal Aviation Administration in December 2025.
The Global 8000 entered into service in December 2025 and represents a new benchmark in business aviation performance. With a top speed of Mach 0.95 and an industry-leading range of 8,000 nautical miles, the aircraft enables passengers to travel faster and farther than ever before, connecting more global city pairs nonstop.
Stephen McCullough, Executive Vice President of Engineering, Product Development and Bombardier Defense, highlighted that the EASA certification reflects the dedication of Bombardier’s workforce and strong collaboration with regulatory authorities. He emphasized that the aircraft’s continued momentum following its entry into service positions it as a transformative platform in the ultra-long-range segment.
One of the standout features of the Global 8000 is its industry-low cabin altitude of just 2,691 feet while cruising at 41,000 feet. This significantly reduces passenger fatigue and enhances overall wellness, ensuring travelers arrive refreshed and ready for high-performance activities.
The aircraft also introduces a true four-zone cabin configuration, offering unmatched flexibility, luxury, and comfort. Passengers benefit from a highly refined onboard environment designed to meet the demands of long-haul travel, making it ideal for both business and leisure missions.
In addition to its speed and range, the Global 8000 delivers impressive operational versatility. Its advanced wing design, featuring innovative leading-edge slats, enhances aerodynamic efficiency and allows access to up to 30% more airports compared to its closest competitors. Despite its size and capability, the aircraft maintains takeoff and landing performance comparable to that of a light jet, enabling operations at shorter runways and challenging airports.
The Global 8000’s combination of speed, range, comfort, and airport accessibility has redefined expectations in business aviation. With a series of achievements throughout 2025, including multiple certifications and entry into service, Bombardier has firmly positioned the aircraft as a leader in next-generation business jet innovation.
As demand for high-performance, long-range travel continues to grow, the Global 8000 stands out as a pioneering solution, delivering unmatched efficiency, luxury, and global connectivity for modern aviation customers.
